Warehouse Manager (m/f)

Our client MAERSK, one of the world’s largest port and terminal operators based in the Netherlands, has signed a new concession agreement for the container terminal Zagrebačka Obala; Port of Rijeka. This is the largest project in the history of the Port of Rijeka, both in terms of importance and value, significantly expanding the port operations and logistics business of Rijeka and Croatia.

Currently, they are looking to build their team in Croatia and hire an ambitious and motivated individual in the position of:

Warehouse Manager (m/f)

Location: Rijeka

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the whole site and its operational activities and financial performance
  • Regular communications with the customer
  • Ensuring that company and health and safety policies and procedures are applied and adhered to
  • Develop and maintain a working relationship with the customer and their associates ensuring that agreed quality and performance standards are achieved at all time
  • Fully understand customer requirements and adopt an approach which will ensure that customer’s needs are met and exceeded, through regular contact and communication with the customer, managing close internal and external customer relationships
  • Setting and adherence to agreed budget levels
  • Analyse and understand health and safety related risks and take action to reduce or eliminate these risks according to a prioritised plan alongside driving a safety culture. Ensure that all legal requirements are met
  • Objective setting of realistic and demanding KPI’s, actively seeking ways of improving efficiency, performance and reducing costs throughout the whole site
  • Ensure effective resource planning and management to meet customer and business requirements
  • Ensure all legislative and general training requirements are completed effectively and in good time
  • Ensure that all inbound, outbound and internal stock movement processes are recorded and reported accurately, compliantly and on a timely basis within the relevant Warehouse Management System and all related systems
  • Ensure compliance to all required submissions of daily, weekly, monthly documentation to required authorities
  • Ensure overall stock is controlled and discrepancies are within the agreed tolerances
  • Development and implementation of a site succession plan and ensure ongoing people development planning via the appraisal process and regular one on one

Requirements:

  • Strong operational warehouse management skills, budgeting and finance control
  • Proficiency with WMS and DMS systems
  • Well-developed communication and relationship building at all levels (customer, management, operations).
  • Ability to lead, direct and motivate across all departments
  • Development of management roles within the site succession plan
  • Fluent in English, reading, spoken, written
  • Microsoft Office (advanced level)
