10. HRMA Let's evaluate the state of HR – let’s observe a decade of HR through 360˚!

Join us at 10th the Jubilee HR Arena - to evaluate the position, power and role in transforming the organization - and effectively respond to market changes, demonstrate our professional competence and achieve competitive advantage.

Although the economic crisis is behind us, its consequences are greatly felt in companies - a traumatic experiences due to dismissal of employees, as well as the need for savings wherever possible. In such environment, as well as in the race for income, companies often fail to understand the value of the individual and his contribution to the company. And it is the skill, knowledge, flexibility and creativity of employees to ensure that many organizations survive and succeed in the market in these turbulent times. How Croatian companies and those in the region relate to that issue and what makes them competitive when it comes to human resources?

This year's the tenth anniversary HR Conference deals with the following key topics through four panel discussions:

Decade of HR practice in the region, with forecasts for future periods

Like 10 years ago, as nowadays in a time of great change on the market and the emergence of a global crisis, we question rarely the position, role and power of the HR. What is the function of HR in the transformation of companies, are they ready or willing to understand the value of the individual and its contribution to the company nowadays, not only the value of capital? Competences of employees - their skills, knowledge, flexibility, creativity - provide not only survival but also a quality differentiation in the market to many of the companies. At what stage are the companies in Croatia and the region, what makes them competitive in a variety of industrial branches when it comes to human resources? Can we do a retrospective look at a decade of work and development of HR, can it help us to comprehend better the future? Why are some companies more successful? What do they do better or different than other? What is the role of the Management Board and Senior Management in all this?

HR in the function of a company transformation

Business transformation is achieved through the efforts of harmonizing the area of people, processes and technology. The longevity of the organization depends on the stimulating environment, leadership by example, transformation of employees’ behavior, new shared values and planned models of change processes. Many large economic systems were initially small. Dell Computers was created in the student room; Apple out of the garage, Podravka has emerged from a modest manufacturing production of jam and Agrokor from a family business for the production and selling flowers. What is the real difference between organizations that are advancing through the process of change and those who experience a crash? How to survive and how to adapt to the market by implementing strategic change? Speaking about the radical changes that transformed the entire organization, such as restructuring, the creation of a new corporate strategy, taking over a competitor or a decision about entering new markets, the most important role has the Management Board. But the question is; what is the role of HR departments and HR experts in initiating and implementing the necessary changes? How does it work in practice and through which changes are going HR support will be the topic of this panel.

New models in the selection process, human resources development and monitoring of work performance

What is the role of some more expensive assessment centre process in the selection and recruitment? What information this process gives about the candidates and does it provides a more reliable estimate and safer investment? How risky is to implement the method of 360 °? How to train people to conduct interviews and provide as reliable estimate as possible? Answers to questions on the new models and the pitfalls in the application will be given in this panel.

Rhythm of a company = rhythm of an individual?

Do you feel happy? How many people do you know who have a balanced life? Do you control at least what you can control? Which professions do we envy? What were your expectations about your future work during your education? How many executive directors and managers do you know who do not work in order to live but they live in order to work? Is this a logical consequence of the business principle "Only the Strong Survive"? Is it possible to withstand the strained pace for a longer term? Whit this we open well-known theme of every person's life, a balance between private and professional. Homo laborans (“a working man”) was created in time and limited by time, but clock that measure our time is going slower than technological and / or financial clock. Companies that measure their success only through financial effects have employees with those two stuck hours. Is there any way to align their paces?

During the interactive workshops and dynamic panel discussions you will be able to share your experiences in managing human resources with a number of prominent panelists, speakers and renowned experts from the Croatia and the region.
